Offered by Swan Hering as a freelancer.

Start sharing your work with the world

The Colours of Being Course is about your creative expression. What does creativity look like for you? How do you work? What gets you into flow?

Here, we use creativity as a tool for empowerment. Creativity is your innate expression at the core of who you are. It is part of our human nature — everyone has it, in their own way.

The course is available in English and German.

Why creativity?

Practicing creativity helps you access inner clarity, energy, and direction. Unfolding your own colours is about aligning more deeply with yourself, and from there experiencing greater peace, confidence, and agency.

What we cover during the course

Over 8 weeks of live group sessions, personal coaching, and community support, you’ll explore vision, values, skills, uncertainty, shame, and fear — and be supported to lead and sustain what you envision in real life.

Part of a greater vision

This course is part of a greater vision: a society where everyone has their place. I offer it as a freelancer under the Colours of Being brand, from the same attitude that carries the projects of Colours of Being. I create space for you to unfold your creative potential, because when energy flows where it’s meant to, a sustainable life becomes possible.

This course* is for you if …

  • you like parts of your life, and sense there’s room for more autonomy, creativity, or something that feels genuinely yours — without needing to burn everything down.
  • you’re curious about what truly lights you up — a side project, creative expression, a new direction, or simply more space for joy — and want practical clarity on how that could take shape in real life.
  • you’ve tried starting something before, but it fizzled out. You want to understand why — and learn how to create momentum that feels natural and sustainable.
  • you’re looking for a grounded, flexible growth process that uses creativity as a tool — not just to imagine possibilities, but to translate them into lived experience.
  • you feel the pull toward your next chapter and want a clear, kind, and empowering path to explore it.

*Not for quick fixes. It’s a space for honesty, experimentation, and embracing the messy middle of being human.

What this course asks of you

The course goes as deep as you let it. That’s why I’m honest with you upfront about what it asks of you.

Time

Expect around 3 hours per week: the live session plus some time for the exercises in between.

Taking yourself seriously

Really take these eight weeks for yourself. Come to the sessions, do the exercises, and keep looking even when it gets uncomfortable. That’s often where the most happens.

Kindness towards yourself

Taking yourself seriously doesn’t mean being strict. You move at your own pace, and contradictions are part of it: they show that you’re expanding beyond old ways of thinking.

Words from course alumni

★★★★★

The block wrap ups were really powerful. Having a commitment ceremony, witnessing each other’s poems…

Allie Downes

“

It is like hiking: you will follow a path and have some stops to learn, reflect or do things. This hike will lead you to understand better who you are and how you can get to what you wish. It will force you (and that’s good) to describe concrete actions, concrete situations. Each time you say something, it will make you express: “What does that look like in your life?”

Laurence, Nature-Based Facilitator

“

More and more I have been acknowledging and seeing my true value, and by that naturally expressing myself more freely. I have started to say things that I used to filter and decide not to say because of fear of judgement from others. It has opened up a space within me and created an observer, one that is accepting. It feels like a window to my true self beyond the judging eyes of the ego.

Vilja, Physiotherapist

“

I think the “culture” of this beautiful course is affecting me the most. I find it to be gentle and radical at the same time. Direct mirroring (love it!) and also deeply accepting of what comes up. […] I must say that Swan’s clear eye and intuition impress me.

Katrina, Healthcare Worker

“

The Colours of Being Course has deeply supported me (and is still doing that). […] I’m learning to approach myself with curiosity instead of judgement. That shift alone has been incredibly freeing. […] This course has also given me the courage to express myself more openly. […] I feel supported and seen.

The chapter on shame and fear had a huge impact on me. It was deep and healing, and I cried rivers. I realised I had been carrying this pain within me for so long without really stopping to feel it.

Frequently Asked Questions

About the content

I’m not very artistic or creative. Is this course still for me?

Absolutely! The “colours” we explore are metaphorical, representing different aspects of your being. While we may use some creative exercises, no artistic skill or experience is required. This course is about self-discovery, not artistic production. Besides, I believe everyone is creative.

How is this different from other personal development programmes?

The course integrates multiple disciplines: psychological understanding, philosophical inquiry, and learnings from physics about what reality is. Rather than focusing solely on mindset or behaviour, I create a holistic container that honours your full complexity as a human being. All practices are oriented to serve your empowerment and resilience as the messy, magnificent human being you are.

Is this course spiritual in nature?

The course honours the spiritual dimension of human experience without adhering to any specific tradition. Participants from diverse spiritual backgrounds, as well as those who don’t identify as spiritual, can find the content accessible and valuable. Each person can engage with the material through their own lens.

Do I need any previous personal development experience?

No. The course is designed to meet you exactly where you are. If you’re new to personal development, you’ll find a supportive entry point. If you’ve done extensive work already, you’ll get fresh perspectives and room to go deeper. Either way, we’re on this journey together and discover what works along the way.

Practical considerations

What do I need for the course?

A pen and notebook and a device that runs Google Meet, preferably a laptop.

Will there be additional 1:1 support?

If you’d like more 1:1 support in addition to the included 40-minute coaching session, feel free to reach out. Course participants receive a special rate for extra coaching throughout the course.

Addressing concerns

I’m going through a difficult time right now. Is this the right time to take the course?

This is a thoughtful question that deserves a personal conversation. While many find this work supportive during transitions or challenging periods, there are times when a different kind of support might be beneficial first or alongside this work. Book a brief call with me, and we’ll find out together whether this is the right timing for you.

I’m worried about sharing in a group. How much disclosure is expected?

You always decide what and how much you share. While connection with others can deepen the experience, all sharing is invitation-based, never required. Many exercises offer options for private reflection or paired conversations, and the whole course is a container of strict confidentiality and non-judgement (we make a pledge together at the beginning).

What if I start the course and feel it’s not right for me?

I welcome open communication throughout the course. If you’re feeling uncertain about the fit, let’s talk and see how we might adjust the approach to better serve you.
